How do I save GIFs to my Photos library?
This is something that a lot of people ask about! As it turns out, there's a couple of ways to do it, you just have to know where to look.
- Open the preview screen for the GIF you wish to save.
- Select the action button (the box with an arrow pointing up) in the top right corner of the screen.
- On the sheet that opens up, select "Share Image". This will open a share sheet for performing actions with the GIF.
- Find the "Save to Photos" action and select it.
Alternatively, you can:
- Open the preview screen for the GIF you wish to save.
- Select the info button (the letter "i" in a circle) in the top right corner of the screen.
- Find the "Save to Photos" action and select it.
You may be presented with an alert, requesting access to be able to add images to your Photos. You will need to allow either limited or full access, otherwise saving images will fail (and you won't be asked again, it'll just fail). You can change this access at any time within the GIFwrapped section of Settings.app, or from the "System Settings" link within GIFwrapped's in-app settings.
